Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18-08-2026

This policy explains what personal data Self Wealth Management collects when you use our app and our website, how we store and use it, and the rights you have over it.

Self Wealth Management is the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 17451406) with our registered office at 195 Wood Street, Suite Ra01, London, United Kingdom, E17 3NU. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZC247923.

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at contact@selfwealthmanagement.co.uk.

1. What we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive the identifier and email address that provider shares with us.

Financial profile information. The app lets you record information about your finances so that calculators can be pre-filled and results personalised. Depending on what you choose to enter, this may include details of your income, spending, assets, pensions, liabilities, and tax history.

Labels and descriptions you enter. Some fields let you type your own names or notes — for example, naming a pension or an asset. We store whatever you enter. Please do not enter sensitive information (such as details about your health, or information about other people) in free-text fields. These fields are intended for short, practical labels only.

We do not connect to your bank accounts, and we do not collect transaction data.

2. Why we process your data

We process your data to:

  • provide the app and its features, including saving your financial profile and pre-filling calculators (performance of our contract with you);
  • keep your account secure and prevent misuse (legitimate interests);
  • respond to support requests and comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Where your data is stored

Your financial profile data is stored in Google Cloud's London region (europe-west2), in the United Kingdom. Google (through its Firebase and Google Cloud services) acts as our data processor and stores this data on our behalf.

Account authentication data (your email address and sign-in credentials) is handled by Firebase Authentication, which operates on Google's global infrastructure and may involve processing outside the UK. This covers only your sign-in details — not your financial information. Where data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Google's standard contractual protections.

4. Cloud sync and local-only use

Cloud sync is optional. If you turn cloud sync off, your data is stored only on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. You can turn sync on or off at any time in My Account -> Delete cloud data. If you turn sync off after using it, you can also delete your previously synced data (see section 7).

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data from our systems, and it is removed from our backup systems within 7 days. If your account is inactive for longer than 2 years, we will contact you before deleting your data.

6. Deleting your data

You can delete your synced data or your entire account at any time from My Account, or by contacting us at contact@selfwealthmanagement.com. Deletion removes your data from our live systems immediately and from backups within 7 days. Data stored only on your device is deleted when you delete the app or clear its data.

7. Who we share your data with

We share data only with the service providers who help us run the app:

  • Google (Firebase / Google Cloud) — data storage, authentication, and AI processing, as described above.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete your data ("right to erasure");
  • export your data in a portable format;
  • object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@selfwealthmanagement.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.

9. Cookies (website)

Our website uses both essential cookies and analytics cookies. We ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time via the cookie banner, or by disabling cookies for our site in your browser. The app itself does not use cookies but will store your personal data, encrypted, on your device.

10. Children

The app is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
